A LITTLE ABOUT US
Primo is a proudly South African, family-run business that started in Joburg with two cousins, a shared obsession with health, and one big question back in 2022: why hadn’t anyone made protein pudding here?
We’d seen how popular they were overseas · convenient, high-protein, tasty… At lunch one day the idea came up half-jokingly: why hasn’t anyone brought this here? It stuck. We couldn’t stop thinking about it, and haven’t since then.

We had no clue where to start, but figured we’d try anyway. First few attempts? Utter chaos. We cooked up weird sludges on the stove, read research papers we didn’t understand, and somehow still believed it could work.
We reached out to food techs, tested samples, messed up batches, and kept pushing.
Eventually, we found the right recipe, built the brand, and set up our own tiny production line in a garage after many failed trials at outsourcing production.

Primo isn’t going to be about just selling pudding. We’re here to help people see that smart, healthy choices can still taste unreal. Making smart swaps doesn’t need to be complicated, and eating well isn’t a compromise.
And we’re only getting started.
